It has been a while since my last post, I have been having computer problems and the road works near our business was extended for another week. So my frustration level has been tested. The road should be opened again on Friday and Dave and I will be re-arranging the shop and sprucing in up to give the customers a different look and feel as they wonder through it.
I got these drums for nothing from a factory I used to work at a number of years ago, they have only had food products in them so just with a wash out they will come handy for storing feed for the animals and storing water in. The black ones used to have gherkins in and have screw top lids which we have been using to bring water home from town.

I am fascinated with your water collection and watering system.
What a clever and useful system.
Thanks for sharing, especially the pics.
I hope they get done soon with the road construction so you can get back to business soon :)

Hi Lisa!
When you are not on town water and you have to rely on the weather and yourself I suppose you try and do with what you have. So this system works for us at the moment.
My parents recently got a 1000 litre tank just like yours for $10, they've connected it up to collect rainwater. I have a food barrel but don't have it connected yet was just supposed to be for greywater but we've been slack in collecting that.
Do you have other water tanks?
Hi Cheryl! Yes we have three other tanks that are pretty old. When we can afford it we will get a larger tank to replace these three.
You must be looking forward to the road works being finished. It always seems that they underestimate the time it will take to complete jobs like that.
Great system for collecting the water too. I'm glad we have four large tanks(70 000litres worth) and a creek and haven't ever run out of water.
Hi Tracy!
Yay! the road is now opened and my business can now resume.
70,000 would be ideal for us. We have a creek, four dams and a spring so the property is well watered its just the household water we have to work for :)
Cool! Thanks for sharing your pics. Glad you're back. I also had computer problems (actually blogger problems) too for a while.
My goodness, that is quite a set up for water. I'd love to have a water collection system, but it never seems to rain here anymore.
Hi Wendy! thanks for dropping by :)
Hi CeeCee thank you too for dropping by.I hope you start getting a bit of rain your way soon :)
